Hi Guru. I currently own a HDB flat with my husband. I bought a condo unit with my sister 2 years ago. With the new rulings, I'd like to know if I sell my HDB, can I still buy a resale HDB with my husband?

With the current ruling, if you opt to sell away your HDB unit, you are eligible to purchase another HDB unit but you are required to remove your ownership status from the condo.

Sorry, I am afraid you can't. If you sell away your HDB unit, you are not allowed to buy a resale HDB again with your husband unless you remove the ownership that you co-own with your sister.

Hi, you have to sell away your condo (private ppty) or remove your ownership status before you are allowed to purchase a resale HDB. In addition, since you mentioned that you bought a condo unit 2 years ago (2011), you have to take note of the Seller Stamp Duty (SSD) that would be imposed should you intend to sell or remove your ownership of the condo now.
