I am single over 35 and wants to buy a resale flat close to my parents. My problem- I have worked overseas for several years and have bought a property to live in while working. 2 years ago I decided to return home to spend more time with my aging parents. I am staying at my parents’ home along with my married sister’s family of 4. The short answer is that I need to move out and get a place of my own.
I can’t get a private condo because i can’t afford it. I can’t get a BTO either because i just exceeded the income ceiling. In the end, i can probably afford a 3 room resale flat with less than 60 years lease, which I don’t mind at all. My problem is that HDB restriction to buy if the buyer has existing private property( local or overseas). So i have made an appointment with HDB to explain my situation. But I can’t tell what they would say. Any advice or tips here on how i can appeal to them in order for my request to be granted?
