Asked by
Hi Guru,

I am planning to take on a notation as the substitute tenant for a 24 months contract with 12 months lease remaining. There is one part of concern, because I am suppose to receive the 2 months deposit posted by original tenant after the 12 months completes - everything else in the agreement is standard.

1) I want to know if the notation agreement protects my rights to the 2 months deposits that I am suppose to receive as per my agreement with original tenant.

2) If I (as substitute tenant) is not protected for the deposit return, what should I do to insure that I can receive the deposit - given that I have not damaged the property or owe any outstanding fees after 12 months.

Thank you,
