Hi,

1) Technically, you should have understood the implications before signing the undertaking.
2) You had signed not to get approval for the EHG but to surrender the HDB rental flat.
3) If the HDB officer had induced a misunderstanding to lure you to sign the undertaking, then you have to get back to the HDB to clarify.
4) Just beware that providing untrue, non-updated information to a government officer is a crime. And this could lead to a monetary fine and/or jail term.
