Yes its possible to engage valuers to do an independent valuation at your own cost. But do note it will NOT can can't be used for the eventual transaction as HDB only recognizes the valuation report applied by buyers with valid OTP. Ie. It will be valued again by another hdb randomly appointed valuer once buyer applies with valid OTP.

What it means is that your independent valuation only gives you an estimate of what to work with and market. Whether that helps to secure a better price is not always guaranteed.

You can engage a valuer to value your unit before sale but do take note that this valuation will not be deemed valid for the transaction. At the end of the day, HDB will only recognise the valuation applied by BUYERS.

You are free to engage a private valuer to assess the valuation of your HDB flat. However, this is just to give you an indicative valuation of your property.

For HDB transactions, HDB will only honour the valuation done by their appointed valuer, upon the issuance of OTP. They will not take into consideration your appointed valuer's valuation.

In my opinion, there is no need to spend the money on this, especially with the transparent data that is available so easily. Also, valuation changes with time, your valuation done last month will probably be different in a month's time.
