Hi all. My fiancée and I are a SC/SPR household and we are looking to buy a resale HDB flat sometime over the next few months. We are currently not eligible for the family grant until October 2021 due to the following condition: "Do not own other property overseas or locally, and have not disposed of any within the last 30 months". Is there a chance we can appeal to HDB for a waiver of the remaining cooling period?
A bit of additional background - I am also an Australian PR and worked in Australia for a few years before moving back to Singapore permanently in March 2019. While I was there, my parents bought an apartment in Australia under my name as only PRs can purchase resale properties there. The apartment was sold off in April 2019.
