Since your parents do not have the necessary income to secure a housing loan, it would not be possible for the purchase to take place. In the event that you opt to be the guarantor, your name will be required to be added as owner. This will result in ABSD payable.

Hi Marcus,

Under current regulations, to be a guarantor the person's name needs to be also added into the property ownership, hence it will result in you having a 2nd property thereby attracting ABSD. I'm sure its not the outcome you are looking for.

Unfortunately if there's no income banks are unlikely to grant mortgage loan. May I know which property are they considering at the moment? Thanks and look forward to value-add to your housing plans.
