If you wish to keep the overseas property, yes you should only look at resale ECs or private condos. You can't purchase new ECs from developers as there must be at least 1 SC applicant. For resale EC of 5 years, only SC & SPRs can purchase. For resale EC of 10 years or more, there's no restrictions and foreigners can purchase, just that if its a joint purchase ABSD of 15% applies for foreigner purchase. For SPR individual purchase, ABSD is 5%.
