Hello,

My wife and I are looking to buy a property, I am on a a long-term visit pass working on a LoC, my wife is an SC. Would a bank consider my income if we got a mortgage, or is only my wife's income eligible for consideration?

Thanks

Hi,

If you are referring to purchase a HDB flat, then, it is only your wife income is under consideration as she is the sole owner of the flat.

But if you are purchasing a private property, then you will have to check with banks individually.
In general, private property can be own by yourself & your wife thus likely be considered as single entity, but still this is not definite, dependent on individual bank policy.

I could recommend some of the bankers for you to check with if you could contact me.

Hope the above answer to your main concerns, but if there are more queries, please feel free to contact me at 90110636  , or email: ling.ck7@gmail.com if more information is needed.
I'll be glad to assist.

Best regards

Hi,

If you're purchasing a HDB flat, then only your Wife's income would be used for the loan assessment.

If you're planning to purchase a private property, you may wish to purchase it in joint names, so that your income would also be used for assessment.

Should you need any further assistance in matters relating to property, please contact me at my mobile 9748 6305  . I will be happy to assess and share with you the possibilities for you and your partner in the current market.

Thank you.

Best regards,
Robbie Chen
