Asked by
Hello. My situation may be unique.

My wife bought and lived in her own hdb unit before our marriage under the single scheme. Once married, I was registered as an authorised occupier.

The mop of her hdb unit is not due yet. However, i would like to purchase a condo unit under my own name. I have never own any property before. I have already decided on which area and am ready to purchase.

My question is :
Can I purchase my own condo under my name now? if not, are other ways for me to purchase my own condo now such as removing my name as an occupier?

Hi Tosen,

Unfortunately, you will also need to serve the 5-year MOP if you had been added into the flat as the essential occupier.

If you had purchased the condo before you get married, then there will be no issues at all. Both of you will be able to keep your respective properties.

I am experienced and well-versed in both HDB and private transactions. I will be able to assist you in your property plans. Please get in touch with me for a more in-depth discussion.

Should you need require further assistance in matters relating to property, please contact me at my mobile 9748 6305  . I will be happy to assess and share with you the possibilities for you in the current market.

Thank you.
