Hi Wan Jiau,

HDB flat is government subsidized flat, and that include resale HDB.

Thus there are various eligible schemes for Singapore Citizen and Singapore Permanent Resident to buy for accommodation purpose.

Thus for foreigner, you may purchase private high rise private property only.

Whereas for landed property, the minimum criteria is to be a Singapore Permanent Resident and had adequate economic contribution to Singapore. Upon satisfying the minimum criteria, you may apply for approval from the Controller of residential property of Land Dealing (Approval) Unit (LDAU) under Singapore Land Authority (SLA).

Yes, this is possible if you married a Singapore Citizen. Else, if you married another PR, both of you must be PR for more than 3 years before you can both buy a HDB resale flat.

You could only purchase a HDB in Singapore as a Malaysian if-
(1) You are married to a Singapore Citizen.
(2) If you are married to a PR, being PR yourself, and wait out for 3 years before you can both buy a HDB resale flat.

In any case, you could purchase a private property instead. There are a couple of star buys and heavy discounted units in view of the slow property market ,which you may consider for future capital appreciation. You are only eligible to purchase a HDB under non citizen spouse scheme if your spouse is a Singaporean.

If you are single, you might have to look into private property market.
