Asked by
Hello, I have an acquaintance who is a Singapore citizen (based overseas for the past 15 years) and co-owns a HDB along with his wife (was an SPR). The unit is currently being rented out. His wife's re-entry permit got expired recently. Please advise:
1. Can the husband be the sole owner of the HDB unit, by default,
2. Can the unit continue to rented out while Pt. 1 is sorted out
Would much appreciate a response.
Thank you.

Hi, you may want to contact HDB for more info on behalf of your acquaintance.

Hi,

If his Wife is no longer an SPR, she will have to remove her name from the flat. The Husband may wish to write in to HDB Branch Office to request for a change of ownership to under Sole Lessee.

As to whether HDB will allow him to continue to rent out the flat, he may wish to consult HDB on this matter.

I am experienced and well-versed in both HDB and private transactions. I will be able to assist you in your property plans. Please get in touch with me for a more in-depth discussion.

Should you need require further assistance in matters relating to property, please contact me at my mobile 9748 6305  . I will be happy to assess and share with you the possibilities for you in the current market.

Thank you.
