As a Buyer for HDB Flat, the standard commission the buyer has to pay to his agent is 1% of the purchase price but, it is still negotiable.

Yes, for seller's convenience, having an exclusive agent meaning there is only one point of contact versus, if you intent to engage a few agents, there will be problems like, repeated buyer served by different agents, you will receive numerous phone call from your agents getting hold of viewing appointments. Since they are not your exclusive agent, they are more likely to bring buyers to view their exclusive seller's property than yours. To make it sound worse, your unit will become a show flat. The standard commission for seller to pay their agent is 2% of the selling price but, it is still negotiable.
For PTE property, buyer no need to pay commission.

Commission package can be negotiated. This is a business deal between you and your consultant. It should be a win-win deal for you and him/her. Monetary issue may be important,but the precise timing of all aspects of your transaction procedures,terms and conditions should be considered more seriously.
