Hello Everyone,
My partner and I are currently exploring EC (Executive Condominium) launches as we’re planning to buy our first home. However, we’re facing a few challenges and would appreciate your advice on our situation:
1. Our combined income slightly exceeds the current EC income ceiling of $16,000 by about $730.
2. My parents had previously purchased a condo under my name, which was sold just last month. This now means we are subject to the 30-month wait-out period before we can purchase an EC.
Given that buying a private condo would be a financial stretch for us, and we’re also ineligible for BTO flats, we’re exploring our options. We're in our early 30s and looking to settle down soon.
We’d like to ask:
1. What are the chances of successfully appealing to HDB to reconsider both the income ceiling and the 30-month wait-out period in our case?
2. Are there any alternative housing options or strategies that others in a similar situation have found helpful?
Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!
