Has remote viewing becoming a norm?
Started looking for an apartment rental a month ago.Close to 20 messages (I only sent on the units that I am keen) sent to express interests for viewing but only manged to view 3 physically. The rest either videos, photos or no reply.
Last time when I was looking for a room rental, I easily viewed close to 10 rooms. And those were just a room. Currently I am looking for entire unit which makes physical viewing even more important.
Not sure if Covid or current market makes remote viewing/videos becoming a norm here. As a tenant, it is always better to see and feel the unit and surrounding environment. It helps in decision making whether the unit is suitable or not.
From the recent news on the selling of HDB loft unit at Sky Terrace, physical viewing is no a longer a norm.

According to Ho, the sellers decided to put up the unit for sale in the first quarter of this year, but the fluctuating Covid situation made it difficult to actively market the property. Ho also felt that it was important to arrange physical viewings for serious buyers.
“For a unique property such as this HDB loft unit, it is necessary for buyers to experience the space and the rare layout. I felt that factors such as the serenity of the unit and the impressive view were critical features those serious buyers needed to experience first-hand,” she says.
