If I want to buy a resale flat appointing a specific agent to run it for me, how much commission I need to pay him/her ? I understand that one agent cannot deal both side buying & selling.
Will the agent inform me before hand how much they want or can I just tell them I could only pay them 1% of the transaction? Please advise

Hi Mr Liew,

1% commission is the market rate for engaging an agent for your resale flat purchase. The agent will usually inform on the commission rate as well.

Do contact me for a non-obligation discussion if you need assistance on your purchase.

Afternoon Jeffery,

Under the current CEA ruling, commission payable is to be discussed between the client and the salesperson. It's is true that the salesperson cannot represent both buyer and seller within the same marketing unit but the salesperson can represent you for both buying and selling.

Do feel free to contact me if you have further enquires.

Hi Mr Liew
Advertising and marketing costs are pretty significant depending on the "sellability" of your property and also your expected price.

Buyers are getting more aware of fair value and future price.

If you hadnt purchased any property, it is wise of you to engage a dedicated agent which is responsible of conducting research and to answer your doubts and concerns as candidly as they can.
