Good evening,

I would like to enquire, becoming a part-time property agent but can only work for less than 15 hours per week as a property agent because I have main career which I have to do shift work or 10 hours long shift, is it still possible to earn a net salary of $2,000 per month (or $24,000 per annual)?

Am I expecting too much?

Dear sir/madam,

Committing to long hours for real estate business does not directly translate into how much you can earn. It is the number of effective hours you spend, for example, answering to enquiries from prospective owners, buyers and tenants that will make a key difference. Real estate work involves interactions and activities, whether physical or virtual and these will be subjective to your prospects availability as well. As long as the timing meets, earning more than $2,000 per month is definitely not an issue.

Hi,

May I know why are you exploring this option? Are you planning to make a career switch? Or you're just trying to earn some side income?

To be honest, an agent making only $24k annual income is considered very low. A consistent producer will have this figure as their monthly income.

Of course, if you're keen, the very first step you should do if you were to join this industry, would be to take up the RES course and pass the exams.

Hope I had cleared your doubts. Good luck!

Best regards,
