Good day to all,
I am Malaysian who just converted into Singaporean together with my children. However, my husband is still maintain as SPR.
We plan to buy HDB in nearest time and would like to know either we are entitled for the allowance from government? Also, for our status, Singaporean + SPR Couple, can we purchase BTO or EC? Or we can only purchase subsale HDB.

Hi,

SC+SPR household can purchase BTO or new EC from developer no issue, so long the gross monthly household income does not exceed the amounts (12k for BTO or 14k for EC). You also can purchase resale hdb.

For BTO or new EC or resale flat, whether you still qualify for any grants depends on your income level.

Congrats on getting your citizenship! You will be eligible for BTO, resale HDB and Executive Condo as long as you satisfy the income cap requirement.

In my opinion, you should consider getting an EC if it is within your comfortable financial means as you will be able to reap the upside potential while enjoying the lifestyle and convenience of staying in a condo.

    If I purchase the unit solely under my own name, can I get the full grant?
Good evening,

As you are SC and your spouse are SPR, you will be eligible for half grant for the purchase of HDB, provided that your combined income is within ceiling capped by HDB.
You will be eligible for both new unit (BTO and EC) or resale HDB flat. ABSD is not payable for the purchase as this will be your matrimonial unit. However, if either or both of you have residential property outside Singapore, you will be required to relinquish the ownership on those unit within 6 months from key collection of the HDB unit.

If you have, must dispose it off first and observing a waiting period of 30 months before application.

As your household has a Singaporean, you are able to apply for housing grant or HDB loan if your combined income is within income ceiling (if dont own any private property in Singapore or overseas).

ABSD is additional buyer's stamp duty.

IRAS grants an exemption to ABSD payment if a married couple with at least one Singaporean buying their first property in Singapore as their matrimonial home.

You have to form a family nucleus with your husband in order to purchase a resale HDB.

May I know what're the regulations for disposal of properties in those country? I understand in Penang, you cant sell off your property under construction. I am not sure about yours. Care to share more?
