My partner and I have recently signed for a Bto that would be ready in 2029. Meantime, we intend to rent from HDB through the Public Rental Scheme or Parenthood Provisional Housing Scheme. We also intend to bring my partner's mum to stay with us. My partner and my partner's mum's name are currently tied to a rental home from HDB. How would this affect if we were to proceed? My partner's mum also has accrued debts of around 40k to HDB from her previous home, and we were not able to include her name into the BTO as an occupier because of this.

Would we still have to maintain the current rental home even when we obtain our BTO Keys?

Meantime, because of this status and the need for 2 names to sign for a rental unit, would we have to maintain 2 rental units if we were to proceed with the Public Rental Scheme from HDB? We are to be Wed at the end of this year.

Hi, I believe HDB will be the one ideal to answer your questions, but I do not think there's anything that will mandatory bind you to leasing a unit.
