Hi Jon,

1) 1 family is supposed to own 1 HDB flat only.
2) Thus when you & your Gf married, one of you has to give up the ownership of the flat.
3) Thus it is your choice on whose flat shall let go. HDB will assist in dealing with your MOP.

Hi Jon

If you want to drag and delay , perhaps you will be able to do so for a few months at most , the hdb board sooner or later , will ask your family to give up or sell one of the 2 hdb.

Best case scenerio , hdb will give you a MOP waiver and let you sell at open market , open market meaning better price. Do note SSD or sellers stamp duty taxes applies if sold before 3years MOP .

You have to write in email to 2 departments to appeal for waiver . Firstly To hdb board for MOP waiver .

Secondly to IRAS , INLAND REVENUE AUTHORITY SINGAPORE for the SSD waiver if sold before 3 years ownership.

Worse case scenerio , hdb board disallow your mop waiver appeal and take back your property at their price , meaning , the price that hdb board pay you When they take back your property will not be attractive to you .
