From 27 August 2013, SPR household (i.e. a household with no SC owner) will have to wait 3 years from the date of obtaining SPR status before they can buy a resale flat HDB. May i know the 3 years is count from the first PR obtained or the second PR obtained ? For example i got my PR in 2009, then i sponsor my wife to got her PR in 2014. So when will be the mature date

Hi,

Both SPRs have to hold their SPR status for 3 years individually, hence you can't qualify at the moment for resale HDB, since your wife is only 1 year into her PR status. Thanks and hope it clarifies, would you be keen to consider private condos instead?

Good evening Michael,

Both SPRs must be SPR for at least 3 years to be eligible to purchase a resale HDB so you might have to wait till your wife fulfills SPR status for 3 years first before you can do so.

If not, you might want to opt to purchase private property instead. Hope my explanation helps!

If you need any assistance or advice in your private property purchase, feel free to contact me. Cheers!
