I will illustrate the payments throughtout the purchase process.
1) $1k to obtain option to purchase (OTP) when you agree purchase price with seller
2) $200 valuation fee
3) $4k to exercise option
4) $80 to book first appointment
5) set aside CPF OA funds to pay legal fees, buyer's stamp duty, downpayment etc on 1st appointment
6) pay agent's service fee on 2nd appointment
This is for purchase with HDB loan.
If with bank loan,
1) you will have to pay legal fees, stamp duty to law firm on 1st appointment
2) pay balance downpayment at least 2 weeks before 2nd appointment
3) pay agent's service fee on 2nd appointment
It will be best to engage a professional to assist you in your purchase if you are unfamiliar with HDB regulations/ policy and purchase process.
