I'm a Singaporean and my wife is SPR. we are getting married soon and wish to buy a resales flat together.

i'm the first time applicant but my wife currently own a private condo.

I would like to know are we still able to enjoy the fist timer applicant grant if we buying the resales HDB flat together?

Hi,

Yes its possible if your monthly household income is below 12k, and the grant amount will be 20k for SC-SPR household. Do note she also has to remove ownership from her current private property within 6 months of key collection to resale HDB, is that part of your plans?

Your spouse will be required to remove the ownership status on the private property within 6 months from key collection on the HDB unit. You will be eligible for $20k housing grant if your combined income does not exceed $12k.

Hi,

Yes, you are entitled to HDB grant. Congrats cos with the new budget announced yesterday, you are entitled $10,000 more in your grant.

You will entitled half of the grant amount as below:

4 room or smaller resale HDB - $25,000 (already halved)
5 room or bigger resale flat - $20,000 (already halved)

There are other grants provided by government as well to try to lighten the citizen housing loan.

For you wife condo case, I will need to understand more before further comment.
