Hi,

If they have purchased subsidized flat 2 times, they are no longer eligible for new BTO, but 2-room flexi lease may still be possible. Alternatively can consider resale HDB if they cannot wait for the construction time.

Dear Sir/Mdm,

Their eligibility will depend on how many times they have applied for subsidized housing before as each Singaporean is only eligible for subsidized housing twice. For the 2nd time, they are also required to pay the resale levy. As for the finances, they will not be eligible for loan anymore and therefore we have to ensure that the proceeds from the sale of their current property can fully pay up for the flat and also they can have some leftover funds for renovation and retirement.

Hi,

1) I totally in line with current government policy in Flexi-lease 2-rm BTO.
2) I find that this is very thoughtful that they keep building these flats for the elderly who wished to cash out from their current flat to downsize to something easier to manage.
Just hope they can keep this until I'm ready to downsize.

3) It is recommended for them to cash out from their current flat and downsize to 2-rm Flexi BTO. Although the lease had reduced to 45yrs and below, which is more than sufficient.

4) Requirement to apply for 2-rm BTO (36 & 45 sqm) are as follow:
(a) Minimum age: 55 years old
(b) At least 1x SC
(c) Gross salary =< $14,000

5) Things that need to be aware of:
(a) Have to dispose of any private property and wait out for 30 months before applying.
(b) You may own an HDB flat during the application, only need to dispose of within 6 months upon key collection.
(c) You are not allowed to apply for any loan. Thus need to notify CPF to keep an amount in OA for this purchase.
(d) You are subject to resale levy depends on your current flat type since this is their 2nd BTO.
