Good day to you,

Your wife would have purchased the unit under Single scheme before both of you got married hence you do not necessarily need to add your name as the occupier.
As long as your name, CPF, and income have not been used for your spouse's HDB unit, you will be eligible to purchase the private property, solely under your name.

If the flat has met the 5 years MOP, then there is no need to add in your name as the occupier. You are free to purchase a private property without the ABSD.

MOP Requirement: If the flat has met the 5-year Minimum Occupancy Period (MOP), you do not need to be listed as an occupier.
Private Property Purchase: You are free to buy a private property without paying Additional Buyer’s Stamp Duty (ABSD).
Single Scheme Purchase: Your wife acquired the unit under the Single Scheme before your marriage, so adding your name as an occupier is not necessary.

There is no need for you to be included as a co-owner for the HDB that is currently owned by your wife. You will be able to use your name to purchase a private property if your wife has fulfilled the 5 years Minimum Occupation Period, and depending on the number of other properties you own in Singapore, the prevailing Additional Buyer's Stamp Duty may apply.

Hi,

Your wife would have bought the HDB under single SC scheme, so it is not necessary to add your name in as occupier.

As long as your name is not added, income and CPF are not used for purposes of her hdb purchase, you do not own any property count, and hence can purchase your own private property as first property.
