If you are a Singapore Citizen first timer buying a resale HDB flat, yes you will be eligible for the CPF Housing Grant. The total household income ceiling to be eligible for the CPF Housing Grant is $12,000. If you are staying near parents then you will also be eligible for the Proximity grant. There is also another grant called the Additional Housing Grant which has a total household income limit of $5000. The maximum grant that a family can get up to is $110,000. Of course this will be subjected to all the income ceiling restrictions and other factors.
With all these figures in place. it also does not mean that we should max out all the grants if possible. We always tell our clients that there are pros and cons in every scheme and policies and we really need to scrutinise through all of them to see if it is suitable for us. And of course it will depend on our financial affordability.
There are also many factors to consider when buying a house. What I will suggest is that maybe we can meet up for a chat. No worries as there are no obligations.
