Dear mdm,

You can sell the current flat upon meeting the MOP and purchase a resale or BTO thereafter under single ownership with your husband as the essential occupier. Do take note that both of you will still be required to fulfil the 5 years minimum occupation period before he is eligible to purchase a private property without having ABSD being levied if he is a Singapore Citizen.

PropertyGuru only allows registered agents with a paid subscription with PropertyGuru to put up their listing for sale or rent. I have recently just paid over $13k to renew my subscription with PropertyGuru. Hi Mdm,

Yes this is possible. However, the essential occupier will only be able to purchase a private property after the 5 years MOP is fulfilled without the need to pay any ABSD. This is because during the 5 years MOP, the essential occupier is not allowed to buy a private property.
