Asked by
Dear Property Gurus,

I am a S'porean married to a foreigner and have a kid. Both of them are holding foreign citizenship with NO SPR. I will be 35 in a couple of months.
1) Can I buy a HDB flat under my own name when I'm 35?
2) Do I qualify for first time homebuyers grant?

Thanks.

Evening,

You can purchase a resale unit under the Non-Citizen Spouse Scheme. Your wife or children must have long term social visit pass.
You, reaching 35, can apply for the single housing grant and HDB loan, subjected to approval and your income ceiling.

Do feel free to contact me if you require further assistance.

Hi NB

Thanks your question.

My answers to your questions above mentioned:-

1) Yes you are eligible to buy a hdb flat if your family member is holding more than 6 months social visit pass under the Non-Citizen
Spouse Scheme.

In the event if their visit passes are less than 6 months than you may have to wait till your 35th birthday is over/passed and apply under Single Scheme.

2)The 11k grant will be allocated to you if you fulfill the crieria set by hdb with an income ceiling of below S$3,000 a month.

You may also apply for a top up grant if your spouse turn SPR one day for $9,000, additional $10,000 will be allocated to you also if you are staying near parents, hence total $19,000.

In the event if your spouse turn to become Singaporean or new born baby became Singaporean than you will be eligible for the top up grant of $19,000, $10,000 additional if stay near parents, hence $29,000

Hope that I have addressed to your concern. Should I can be of further assistance please do not hesitate to contact me. =)
