Dear Gurus, seek your advice on 2 questions for my situation: I’m a married SC, my SC spouse owns a private property solely. My mother is on LTVP. Both myself and my mother do not own any properties in SG or overseas.

Q1. Will my mum and myself be eligible to buy a resale flat under the non-Citizen family scheme?

Q2. If eligible to buy resale flat, any size restrictions? e.g 1-room, 2-room or 3-room etc

Hi, as you are already married, you could only purchase a HDB flat together with your spouse.

Hi

As you are married, you will need to include her in the application. She has to sell her private property within 6 months of the purchase of the HDB resale.

You might be eligible to purchase a HDB resale of any size but have to include your husband either as a co-owner or an occupier and your mom as occupier.(Foreigners are not allowed to be listed as owner). In case of your husband, he needs to dispose off his private property either before the purchase of the resale flat or within 6 months after the purchase date of the resale. HDB does not allow a spouse to concurrently own a HDB and private property at the same time. I do provide a free and non obligatory consultation on regards to properties in Singapore. Hi Mdm,

As you're married, you can only purchase under the Public Scheme. Which means your Husband must be included either as a co-owner or an essential occupier. This means that he will have to dispose off his interests in all private residential properties latest within 6 months upon your HDB purchase
