Dear Gurus:
I became Permanent Resident this month, so my contribution to CPF will start only from this month as well, unfortunately my wife who is Singapore Citizen has lost her job last month and seems not so easy to get a new job so soon in next few months, however in her previous company she had nearly 1 year's CPF contribution........ consider my situation, can we still eligible loan from HDB right now? if can not , how many months do we have to wait ? thank in advance for your helps

Afternoon Qianlong,

Depending on your current pay and the size of unit that you wanted to buy, things might not be as bad as you see.

Do feel free to contact me if you require any further assistance.

Hi Qian Long,
Are you applying direct from HDB or getting resale from open market? You may do a self-check survey of your eligibility at http://services2.hdb.gov.sg/webapp/BP13EligCheck/BP13SHome?strSystem=CHECK

You eligiblity of HDB loan is subjected to your total household income as well as eligibility conditions.

hi Lynn, thanks for the answer and URL provided, we are trying to get resale flat, my salary is S$5600/m ( but no CPF contribution so far) , my wife's salary was 3K, from the HDB survey we are eligible to buy resale flat, what I am concerning is do i have to contribute few months(or how many) CPF then I can get HDB loan..... we do not wanna loan from bank as bank requires 20% initial downpayment..
Hi QianLong

Thanks for your question.

Due to your wife is a Singaporean hence Yes, she is eligible for HDB loan but she needs to have a job ultimately to supports it. As for the amount of loan it is subjected to HDB's assessment based on the total household income of a family and perhaps in this case yours and her total monthly income.

Should you require further information on loan issues pls feel free to contact me. =)
