Asked by
Dear Gurus,

I am a Singapore citizen (first generation), I purchased a resale HDB flat 3 years back under non-citizen family scheme with my parents. I am the sole ower of the flat and my parents are occupiers.

Subsequently, I got married last year, my wife is a SPR. I am planning buying a private property under my wife’s name and keep my current HDB flat.

My questions are
1. Is it compulsory to add my wife in my HDB flat as occupier?

2. If I add her in my HDB flat as occupier, will she be able to buy a private property under her own name as her first property and only pays the 5% ABSD and standard BSD and loan up to 80%? (After completed 5 years MOP of my flat)

3. The 5-year HDB MOP is calulated from the date I purchased the flat or the date I add her as occupier?

Your help is much appreciated!
