Dear Guru, I am SPR and planning to renounce after MOP. I understand there is 6 months term provided that I need to sell HDB.
May I ask what is the average time frame nowadays for selling HDB a day after MOP? 6 months or at least 1 year. I was wondering in case no buyer after 6 months then what is the alternatives.

Hi,

If you have firmed up your plans to renounce SPR, you might want to try to appeal to hdb to sell earlier. I have assisted with SPR migration clients selling their hdb and will be able to assist with the appeal. It will also be better to start marketing the unit for sale first and secure a buyer first before you renounce the SPR status, hence you wouldn't be so constrained by time. The process of renouncing the SPR can be quite fast and I will be glad to assist. More details @

Afternoon,

Depending on your unit location and asking price, the standard marketing should take around 1 to 5 months. Upon document submission after your buyer exercise the Option, it will take around 4 months to completion. In the case where the unit does not managed to get a buyer, we can write to HDB for extension request.

The time needed to sell your HDB depends on various factors, from your location, to your unit condition, to your expected price.

Take away the time catered for marketing to finding the right buyer, you should be looking at about 4 months to complete the transaction.
