Dear all,

My wife and I are scheduled to take over a new BTO flat in August 2014.

Currently, we live and work overseas and will probably return in 3-4 years time when our contracts lapse.

In the meantime, will the HDB allow us to rent out the whole flat. Its fair that the MOP does not count down, more importantly, we need to cover the monthly repayment costs.

Would anyone also have a draft appeal/application letter that I can use to explain our situation?

Morning,

Different client have different situation and hence the letter of appeal will be drafted differently. As to whether HDB will approve your rental of BTO unit due to your work commitment overseas, it would depend on the cycle of events and the condition that you are in. All appeal are also subjected to HDB approval.

Good day to you Mr/Ms,

I understand the situation you are in.

In this case, you will need to contact HDB on your eligibility to sublet your whole flat due to special circumstances.

When appealing, you will have to state your reasons for appeal clearly. HDB will then assess your application and notify you of the outcome.

You are also right to say that if HDB approves your application, the period of subletting would not be considered as an occupation period.

Kindly feel free to contact me should you require further assistance with your property transactions.
