Dear all, may I ask
1) I am a SPR, applied SC (in progress). I owned a overseas property. If SC application approved, I intend to buy a house in Singapore, am I eligible for HDB grants?

2) If the answer is "No" for question 1, what can I do in order to get HDB grant in this case? On the other hand, if I don't get the HDB grant for having a property overseas, am I eligible to get HDB loan? or I must go for bank loan?

3) Any rules & regulations that stated after getting citizenship, must wait 3 years only can purchase a Resale HDB?

Hi,

1) Yes, there are a few types of grants that are eligible to SC.
2) Grants are mainly applicable to resale flats. Under BTO, only EHG is available to assist the lower-income groups.
3) Overseas property is not an obstacle for a grant application. It is the eligibility. You only need to sign an undertaking letter to promise to sell it off within 6 months upon key collection.
4) You are eligible for an HDB loan once you received your SC. However, there is an income ceiling for HLE. household income of $7,000/mth for single and, $14,000/mth for family.
5) You can opt for an OTP immediately once you received your SC ID and passport. Remember must receive your passport first before opting for an OTP. HDB is quite strict on this.
6) You may check which scheme suits your condition:

Hi,

You mentioned that you owned an overseas property previously? How long has it been sold off? Or do you still own it now?

If it had been sold off more than 30 months ago, and you do not currently own any private properties, you will be eligible for CPF Housing Grants, provided you meet all the other eligibility conditions. You will also be able to apply for HLE if your monthly household income is not more than $14k.

If you still own the property, or had disposed off the property within the past 30 months, I'm sorry to inform that you will not be eligible for CPF Housing Grant and HLE.

I am experienced and well-versed in both HDB and private transactions. I will be able to assist you in your property plans. Please get in touch with me for a more in-depth discussion.

Should you need require further assistance in matters relating to property, please contact me at my mobile 9748 6305  . I will be happy to assess and share with you the possibilities for you in the current market.

Thank you.

Best regards,
Robbie Chen
