Strictly speaking, there are no penalties for downgrading. What are some of the finances involved will depend on the circumstances we are in. There are many factors to look at like is your current flat brand new from HDB? Are you looking to purchase another brand new flat or are you planning to take a bank loan for your next purchase? When all these are answered, the next issue we need to deal with will be the timeline for the sale and purchase. All these will need to be duscussed with mouch meticulation.
