Good morning,

Sorry to inform you that if you are below 55 years old, you have to dispose off your oversaes private property and observe 15 months waiting period first before you are eligible to buy a resale flat. Assuming both of you are SPR for at least 3 years individually.

You will have to do declaration of such information in resale application submission.

    I wonder how is hdb going to check if we have any overseas property? I doubt hdb has the authority to access my private overseas assets.

SPR owning overseas property will be ineligible to purchase a resale HDB, unless they dispose the property and wait out for 15 months period, or if they are aged 55years and above, they may purchase a resale 4room flat or smaller and dispose the foreign property.

As with all purchases of HDB, purchasers will need to declare that they do not own any private residential properties, thus are you open to take a chance to be found out and risk having your HDB repossess?

Hi,

HDB would require individual buyer to declare and if you are caught to have been falsely declaring, then you risk the flat being repossessed by the HDB so what’s the point?

My answer with regards to your Question :

Singapore Permanent Residents (SPRs) are generally allowed to buy HDB resale flats, but there are certain conditions to be met. One of these conditions is that SPRs must not own any other residential property in Singapore or overseas at the time of the resale flat application.
To verify ownership of overseas properties, HDB may conduct checks through various means, including cross-referencing information with relevant authorities. It's important to provide accurate information during the application process, as withholding or providing false information could lead to penalties.
