Can single citizen older than 35 years old BTO with parents who are foreigners and their status in Singapore is
1. Non-pass holder
2. LTVP holder
3. PR
4. SC

Which of the above is yes?
If yes, what’s the size of the flat they can apply for?

I have heard from other they managed to BTO with parents holding LTVP
But seems the latest rule isn’t so? Can only go for resale?

Sounds like an exam question... As my colleague mentioned, if it is your real situation, easiest way is to apply for HFE to find out.

If non SC or non SPR parents, it will be under under non-citizen parents scheme, so only eligible for resale HDB. Refer to link

https://www.hdb.gov.sg/residential/buying-a-flat/understanding-your-eligibility-and-housing-loan-options/flat-and-grant-eligibility/couples-and-families

If either of your parent is SC or SPR, can apply under public scheme, new BTO up to 5-room or resale any type

Apply for the HFE letter and it will show all the possibilities of flat categories to apply.

Hi,

1) There are no scheme that allowed a SC buying BTO with non-citizen family members.
2) The only scheme available is buying a 2-rm BTO with non-citizen spouse when the SC is 35 yrs and older.
3) Buying with non-citizen family member(s) is only for resale flat. There are no restriction over flat type.

1. If both parents are non-citizens, you'll only qualify under the **Non-Citizen Family Scheme** — this limits you to **resale flats only**.
2. If at least one parent is a **Singapore Citizen (SC)** or **Singapore PR (SPR)**, you may apply under the **Public Scheme**, making you eligible for **new BTOs (up to 5-room)** or **any resale flat**.
3. Always apply for the **HFE (Home Financing Eligibility) letter** — it clearly outlines what types of flats you can go for based on your profile.
