Hi, it should not affect your application to become a Singaporean, but you can check with ICA regarding this matter. You will not be able to purchase a HDB if you hold on to the property as far as i know.

1) There is no relationship between owning property locally and overseas to your citizenship application/
2) The main consideration that ICA has is your contribution to the country in terms of economically and politically.
3) If you are building a factory or growing your business in Singapore definitely will increase your success in the citizenship application.
4) Having private property will only deter you from buying any HDB flat. You will therefore need to consider private property instead.
5) Note that IRAS will only count your property in Singapore and not overseas, you will not be subject to ABSD to own your first private residential property when you receive your citizenship.
