Hi,

The public rental scheme is for low income families with financial hardship, so if you like to apply for that most likely have to appeal since hdb would have records of you having sufficient financial proceeds from the 4-room sale.

Perhaps I could have more info so to assist better? May I have more info and requirements about your plans so as to make better recommendations? Thanks and look forward to value-add to your housing plans.

Hi,

it all depends on the sales proceed and the condition in which made you want to apply for public scheme rental flat. As public rental scheme is for low income families, you might not be able to get a unit under that scheme, of course you can appeal and wait for HDB reply.

Hi Sir/Mdm,

You will not be eligible for the rental flat from HDB because you will likely get a sum of sale proceeds from the sale and therefore HDB will not consider you to be under financial hardship. For combined household income, it is usually less than 1.5k per month in order to qualify.

Everyone in your application should not have any ownership, interest or estate in any property (local or overseas, building or land, residential or otherwise).

If you previously owned property, the sales proceeds from your last property will be considered when we assess your housing budget.

Existing HDB residents
Everyone in your application should not be owners or essential occupiers of an HDB flat. Existing tenants under HDB's rental schemes are also not eligible.

Ability to afford other housing options
You will not be eligible if you are able to afford other housing options, such as renting from the open market or purchasing a flat of your own.

Family support
You will not be eligible if any of your children is:

Able to house you in their home; or
Financially able to provide housing for you (e.g., to rent on the open market).
