Can a SC (son) single 28yo applies HDB as applicant with his mother (alr utilised more than twice HDB loan/grant) as occupier? Is that considered as first timer household? What grant are they eligible for?

Hi

Suggest you to apply for HFE letter first, it will indicate all the grants available and clear your queries. My understanding is your SC son will still be eligible for half of the grants since he is still first timer, assuming all other eligibility conditions fulfilled such as within income ceiling etc.

Firstly, you must not currently co-own a unit with your spouse or hold any properties within or outside Singapore.

As per HDB's website ->

An eligible household may comprise:
You, your parents and siblings. If you are an unmarried SC buying a flat with parents, at least one of your parents must be an SC or SPR.

Do note that all owners and essential occupiers listed would need to meet all the eligibility criteria (such as not owning private property).

Any previous housing subsidy taken does not affect the eligibility to buy a resale flat. However, the number of housing subsidies you have taken will affect your eligibility to apply for CPF housing grants. For this, it is best to apply for a HFE letter and they will inform you accordingly.
