Asked by
Both my parents & I are owners of a flat. We already mentioned earlier to our agent that we want the cheque for our sale proceeds to have 3 names. Yesterday, we signed OTP with the buyer and received the option fee. To save convenience, the option fee cheque was issued under one person (my father)'s name only. After that, our agent asked us again whether the cheque is to be issued under 2 persons' name or 1 person's name. He said 2 or 1 person name will be FASTER. May I know what is our agent's motive/agenda behind this? Is it really possible for the cheque to be issued with only 1 or 2 persons' names even though ours is under Joint Tenancy? Thanks for your assistance and reply.

Usually cheque should be issued to the full ownership name in joint account if it is two person name.Even it is 3 persons name ownership provided 3 names has the bank account to issues. If 3 persons ownership , 3 persons must sign and endorse thd OTP.
