at the end of HDB 99 year lease, even if we have paid up fully for our flat, the government can still take it bk right? If so, what are the options available to preserve our interests?

Evening,

If you have read the conditions clearly, all HDB are leasehold properties and HDB have the right to take it back upon the expiration of lease. If HDB choose to extend the lease to you, it's a plus. However, as at today, most older clusters have being enbloc before it hits age of 60.
