Dear Sir/Mdm,

For SPR, you will need to purchase the HDB with your spouse and both of you have to be SPR for more than 3 years before you are eligible to purchase a HDB flat. However, upon buying a HDB flat, you will need to sell off the condo within 6 months.

SPR are only allowed to purchase a HDB as a family or couple. In addition, all the household member of a SPR needs to obtain it for at least the past 3 years. If you bought a condo and wish to purchase a HDB, you have to sell/dispose your condo off at most 6 months after purchasing a HDB as SPR are not allowed to hold However you are highly advised to sell off your condo first before purchasing a HDB to avoid incurring high amount of stamp duty. Hi,

1) Yes, you can still buy an HDB flat after buying a condo.
2) But do note that you can own multiple private condos but once you buy an HDB flat you are not allowed to own any private condo.
3) You are also advised to sell off your private condo first before buying an HDB flat, so you won't incur a 15% ABSD by owning 2 properties at the point of buying.
4) By the way, I assumed you are aware you have to satisfy the eligibility scheme spelled by the HDB to buy an HDB flat, i.e. single SPR is not eligible for any HDB flat.

In order to purchase a HDB flat, you will have to meet the eligibility conditions under one of the many Eligibility Schemes.

For SPRs, you will have to be married, and both you and your spouse must have attained SPR for more than 3 years.

If you're eligible, you will have to dispose off all private properties (both local and overseas) latest within 6 months upon your HDB flat purchase.
