As per HDB regulations, married couples should be co-owners of the flat. Therefore, you need to dispose your private property within six months of the purchase.

Unfortunately no, all owners and essential occupiers have to sell off all their local or overseas residential property within 6 months of the purchase of the resale HDB.

Hi Sir,

It is not possible because to buy a HDB, it is required to form a family nucleus and therefore your wife needs to include you as one of the owners or as an essential occupier (to make up the nucleus). Either way, you will need to sell off your private property within a 6 months period from the completion of the HDB purchase.

Your wife may want to consider getting a private property instead so that there isn't any restrictions. Please feel free to contact me so that I can understand your situation better and assist you further!
