No, you cannot buy an HDB flat if you own a private property in Malaysia. You must dispose of all private properties before or within 6 months of the resale flat purchase.

Hi George,

If you're a Singaporean family (or single above 35) or a SPR/SPR family that has fulfill your eligibility, you will be able to purchase a HDB resale flat.

Do take note that you will be required to dispose off all residential properties (both local and overseas) within 6 months upon your purchase of the HDB flat. You will be allowed to keep your commercial or industrial properties.
