Yes, you can make arrangements for that. Most importantly you need to ensure that you are competent to handle all aspects of rental from going through the tenancy agreement to handing and taking over of the apartment including opening of utilities account if applicable and etc.

If you are lucky enough, perhaps the landlord's agent can assist further. I have dealt with several direct tenants myself and most of these tenancy are still in service.

Tenants can visit http://bit.ly/ExpatsRent (Singapore Official Page - Expatriate Rental Profiling) to indicate your rental requirements.

It is important to know that
Agent has the obligation to his client, to protect his interests.

Going solo with your agent, means you have to handle everything on your own.

Should something goes wrong during the terms of your lease, who can you turn to ?

The agent who close the deal is representing the Landlord, not you.
