Nope you don't have to but it will be good to share more information with me so I will be affirmative.

Normally those applicants who own or previously own a private property in Singapore or overseas have to adhere to 30 months waiting period before they can apply for BTO or new EC.

The good news for you will be that you do not need to wait for 30 months to get your new EC with your boyfriend.

So the next thing that we need to look at now is the finances to see if we can proceed with the purchase of the EC. If you are fine, then may I suggest that we can meet up for a chat.
