A letter of administrator has been issued by the Court one year after the death of the HDB owner. How long does the beneficiary have to sell off the HDB flat? If the beneficiary has own flat, does he or she need to seek valuation and interested buyer first or need to approach HDB first?

Good morning! Normally it will be 6 months, but do check with the HDB branch office of the inherited unit for exact time frame. If not, I think you will receive a letter stating when do you have to sell the unit by. And even you do own a unit yourself, the inherited unit will be processed as a normal sale transaction (valuation, marketing, closing, completion). My recommendation for your situation is check for the time frame needed to sell off the inherited unit with the HDB branch office first then from there, you will have a better idea of what is needed to be done. Dear sir/madam, The resale process is similar to any other resale HDB. It would be advisable to seek HDB's branch office advise on the time frame before you act on anything.
