Acting as the connecting link between Singapore and Malaysia, the HDB estate supports a huge population of locals and foreigners living in the area. Woodlands HDB estate serves numerous foreigners and locals with reasonable and varied housing options at affordable prices. There are in total about 192,700 residents living in 112,175 residential units in Woodlands.
The Woodlands HDB estate ensures safety, healthy living conditions, recreational facilities and community bonding among its residents. Woodlands HDB estate is located in the northern part of Singapore. The neighboring regions that are close to the HDB estate are Yishun, Upper Thomson, Sembawang, Sungei Kadut and Woodlands.

Transportation Facilities
The Woodlands HDB estate is well connected by efficient roads, expressways and rail transport network. The Bukit Timah Expressway and the Seletar Expressway connects the residents with the rest of this city-state. The underground Woodlands Regional Bus Interchange and a number of MRT stations serve the residents of the estate.
Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) services are provided at regular intervals of 2 to 8 minutes and are generally inexpensive. Some of the prominent MRT stations found in close proximity to the HDB estate are Woodlands (NS9), Marsiling (NS8) and Admiralty (NS10) MRT stations, which all provide rail facility to the local residents.
The SMRT (Singapore Mass Rapid Transit) and SBS (Singapore Bus Services) operate in this area. Some of the services are:
