The town has also bagged the position as the third largest and third most populous town in Singapore, closely following two other towns, Bedok and Jurong West. The town history is quite interesting as the place was earlier covered with swamps, and sand quarries. Spread across 2089 hectares of land and about 2,58,310 inhabitants staying in Tampines, the place almost has everything to provide to its people.
